ABERDEEN (AP) — A Stratford area man has pleaded not guilty to firing a gun at an occupied building at Hutterite colony in northeast South Dakota.
ABERDEEN (AP) — A Stratford area man has pleaded not guilty to firing a gun at an occupied building at Hutterite colony in northeast South Dakota.
According to media reports, 41-year-old John G. Waldner, requested a jury trial. The charge stems from an incident Feb. 17 at the Hutterville Colony.
Prosecutors say Waldner was in a shed and fired a shot through a wall that divided the building that separated two bickering sides of the colony.
Nobody was hurt during the incident.
Discharge of a firearm at an occupied structure or vehicle is a felony punishable by as much as 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
