Huron man charged in standoff ID'd

HURON (AP) — A Huron man is facing two charges relating to a standoff with police.
Christopher Scott Santfleben, 41, has been charged with possession of a destructive device and possession of an explosive device with intent to injure, intimidate or destroy property.
In a court appearance Thursday, Circuit Judge John Erickson set Santfleben’s bond at $10,000.
Authorities said Santfleben was arrested after a two-hour standoff with police early Wednesday. They said they were called to the home after a report of a man trying to make an explosive device.
Beadle County Deputy State’s Attorney Jeff Banks said alcohol was involved in the incident.
State’s Attorney Mike Moore says police found gasoline mixed with another ingredient to make a jellylike substance comparable to napalm.
