MHS girls' golf takes third at meet in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS — The Mitchell High School girls’ golf team finished third in a triangular with Sioux Falls Lincoln and Yankton Tuesday at Prairie Green Golf Course in Sioux Falls.

SIOUX FALLS — The Mitchell High School girls’ golf team finished third in a triangular with Sioux Falls Lincoln and Yankton Tuesday at Prairie Green Golf Course in Sioux Falls.

Mitchell shot 405 as a team and was led by Kristin Sabers, who shot an 87.

Macy Miller followed with a 97 and Madison VanWalleghen and Kylie Barington shot 109 and 112, respectively.

“We’ve just got to remember that it’s a rebuilding year and we have no seniors and only one junior,” Mitchell coach Mark Horan said.

“It’s a difficult course and a lot of scores were higher than the last time we shot out there.”

Mitchell’s next action is at the Watertown/Brookings/Madison quadrangular in Watertown.
