The Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village is now a Blue Star Museum.
As part of the new designation, the Village will give free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families.
The Blue Star certification is a partnership among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families — an organization that raises awareness of the challenges and strengths of military family life — and more than 1,500 museums. The participating museums are from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, American Samoa and the District of Columbia.
Most Blue Star Museums offer the free admission from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, but the Prehistoric Indian Village will offer free admission to active duty military personnel and their families all year long.
