DWU football to host scrimmage and contests

The Dakota Wesleyan University football team is wrapping up its spring practices with a scrimmage, which is open to the public, at 10 a.m. Saturday at the practice field on the DWU campus.
After finishing its spring practices, the team is hosting a fundraiser that will include the Tiger Football Dunk and 3-Point Contest at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26, in the Christen Family Recreation/Wellness Center on the DWU campus.
Both contests are open to anyone who wishes to enter. Cost is $100 per contest.
The dunk contest is open to the first 10 entries and the 3-point contest is open to the first 28 who enter.
DWU athletes set personal bests at Sioux City relays

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Dakota Wesleyan University freshman Katie Johnson set a personal-best throw of 41 feet 2.25 inches in the shot put to take sixth at the Sioux City Relays over the weekend in Sioux City, Iowa.
Trace Tjeerdsma had a personal best time for the Wesleyan men’s track team as he completed the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10 minutes 21.56 seconds.
Tamika Irvin had the best finish for the Tigers. She took fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.32 seconds.
The DWU track teams return to action Saturday, as they compete in the Northwestern Invite in Orange City, Iowa.
