HURON – Singer Lee Brice joins the 2012 South Dakota State Fair Grandstand lineup as an opener for headliner Chris Young on Sunday, Sept. 2.

Brice’s unique taste in music and artists who influenced him have made him a great artist. With inspiration from not only country stars like Garth Brooks and Hank Williams Jr., but musical successes like Coldplay, 3 Doors Down and Tom Petty, everyone is sure to find something about Brice that appeals to them.

When asked about his musical influences, Brice said: “They’re all great, which appeals to me because I want to make every song I do as great as I can, too. I’m not comparing myself to them in any way, but I want the same thing that I love in what they do: They all make music that you can believe in.”

His debut album, “Love Like Crazy,” was one of the strongest debuts across all genres in the last several years. The song “Love Like Crazy” topped the charts on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and was named the No. 1 country song of the year in 2010.

Brice’s hits include “Love Like Crazy” and “Beautiful Every Time” from his Academy of Country Music Award-nominated debut album as well as “A Woman Like You” from his new album “Hard 2 Love” set to be released April 24.

“When we came across Lee Brice, we knew he would be a good addition to the Chris Young ticket. The timing couldn’t be more perfect, either, with the release of his new album coming soon,” said Jerome Hertel, South Dakota State Fair Manager.

A pre-sale on tickets will begin June 18 for backrest holders, followed by Friends of the Fair ticket sales June 21. General public ticket sales will begin June 25.

The 2012 South Dakota State Fair will run from Thursday, Aug. 30, through Monday, Sept. 3. Channel Seeds Preview night will be Wednesday, Aug. 29. For more information on State Fair events, contact the Fair office at 800-529-0900, visit www.sdstatefair.com or find it on Facebook and Twitter.
