VERMILLION (AP) — Frank Abagnale Jr., the subject of the movie "Catch Me If You Can," will be the featured guest speaker at this year's Arthur A. Volk Symposium at the University of South Dakota on Monday.
Between the ages of 16 and 21, Abagnale successfully impersonated an airline pilot, college professor, attorney and doctor as he cashed millions of dollars in checks. The FBI's hunt for him and his eventual imprisonment was the subject of the Academy Award-nominated movie "Catch Me If You Can."
Abagnale has gone on to assist the federal government in training federal law enforcement agencies about tracking white-collar criminals.
The symposium is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Aalfs Auditorium inside Robert L. Slagle Hall.
