LETTER: Our polka visit brings business to Mitchell

I and some of my friends go to the polka festival at Rapid City the week-end before Mitchell’s, and we spend our entire week in South Dakota.

This is in response to your article in The Daily Republic asking for our opinion on the Polka Festival held in the fall at Mitchell. I have been attending that festival for at least 10 years and it is one of my favorites. I have met and see friends that I have made all over the U.S.

I and some of my friends go to the polka festival at Rapid City the week-end before Mitchell’s, and we spend our entire week in South Dakota. We have seen all of the scenic places and spend a lot of our time shopping in Mitchell between polka festivals. I even see our dancing friends from Canada staying the week like we do. Please continue this polka festival. We bring a lot of business to South Dakota during our stay. This has to help the restaurants, motels, RV parks, and scenic areas also.
