A Mitchell man was arrested last week after allegedly telling law enforcement he was his twin brother in an attempt to avoid being arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Brent Loren Sazue, 33, was interviewed by Mitchell police on April 2 as a witness to a shoplifting incident and allegedly told officers he was his twin brother. Sazue had no official identification on him during the interview, but did have a credit card issued in his own name, court documents state.
Sazue admitted to authorities he lied to avoid arrest on an outstanding warrant after staff at Davison County Jail matched his tattoos to records kept by the jail.
He was charged with impersonation with intent to deceive law enforcement, a misdemeanor, and faces a maximum of one year in jail and a $2,000 fine if convicted.
