SALEM — Class AA teams won all four of the 25th annual 3-Class Shootout High School All-Star Basketball games Saturday in Salem.
Mitchell’s Jade Miller was named the boys Class AA MVP for his performances as the Class AA boys’ beat the Class A team 121-115 and followed that up with a 126-95 win over the Class B boys’.
Miller scored 25 points in game one and followed that up with 18 points and 11 rebounds in the second boys’ game.
Tate Martin, another Kernels player, broke the single-game assist record for the event with 11 in the Class AA boys’ win over Class A.
Mitchell’s Brady Maxwell also played in the event, scoring 21 points in the first game and 18 points in the second.
Shayne Gottlob, an all-state player from McCook Central/Montrose, was named the Class A MVP after recording 19 points and nine rebounds in his team’s loss to the Class AA team.
Gottlob won the dunk contest that took place between the boys’ games.
Jordan Feyerisen, of Castlewood was named the Class B MVP on the boys’ side. He scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds in the final game of the shootout.
On the girls’ side, the Class AA team defeated the Class A girls’ 87-80 before handing the Class B girls’ a 103-67 loss.
Hanson’s Ashley Robinson was named the Class B MVP for the girls after scoring 24 points and grabbing six rebounds in the final girls’ game.
Tia Hemiller, of Watertown, was the girls’ Class AA MVP. She had eight points in the first game and recorded a triple-double in the win over Class B. She had 11 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists.
St. Thomas More’s Caitlin Duffy was the Class A MVP for her efforts in the loss to the Class AA girls. Duffy recorded 12 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
Bon Homme’s Raquel Sutera scored 14 points and had six rebounds for the Class A girls’ while Devon Brecke, of Wagner had 13 points for the team.
