I-90 work begins in Chamberlain area

CHAMBERLAIN — Reconstruction work will begin today in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 from mile marker 258 west of Oacoma to Exit 265 at Chamberlain.

CHAMBERLAIN — Reconstruction work will begin today in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 from mile marker 258 west of Oacoma to Exit 265 at Chamberlain.

Traffic will be placed headto-head in the eastbound lanes late in the afternoon today (about 5 p.m.), and the speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.

Existing asphalt pavement in the westbound lanes will be removed and replaced with concrete pavement. Work will also be done on the bridge decks in the westbound lane between mile markers 258 and 263.

Work on the westbound lanes is expected to be completed by July 18.

The Prime Contractor is Upper Plains Contracting Inc., of Aberdeen.
