Large hog operation part of county planners’ agenda for Tuesday meeting

The Davison County Planning and Zoning Commission will consider a busy agenda when it meets at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday in the Commissioners’ Room at the courthouse, 200 E. Fourth Ave., Mitchell. The commissioners will consider an application from Jackrabbit Family Farms for a conditional use permit to operate a 3,088 animal-unit swine production facility in the southeast quarter of Section 8 in Baker Township.

The Davison County Planning and Zoning Commission will consider a busy agenda when it meets at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday in the Commissioners’ Room at the courthouse, 200 E. Fourth Ave., Mitchell.

The commissioners will consider an application from Jackrabbit Family Farms for a conditional use permit to operate a 3,088 animal-unit swine production facility in the southeast quarter of Section 8 in Baker Township.

That is the final item on the agenda. Earlier items will include:

• Consider approving a plat of the Jim Town Trail Conservation easements in sections 10 and 11 in Perry Township. The city Planning and Zoning Commission approved it last week.

• Consider Paul Jerke’s application for a conditional use permit to operate his business, Paul’s Towing, out of his residence in Prosper Township.

• Consider Neal Bainbridge’s appeal for a variance in the lot size of approximately 8 acres to create an approximate 17-acre lot for a future farmstead to build a new residence on his property in Rome Township.

• Consider Stan or Patti Nielsen’s appeal for a 22-acre variance in order to create a 3-acre lot to build a new residence in the southwest quarter of section 29 in Badger Township.

• Consider the Nielsens’ application for a conditional use permit for a septic system more than 350 feet, but less than 660 feet from Firesteel Creek in Badger Township.

• Consider Daniel Mohr’s request for a variance in lot size to add 6.65 acres to an existing acreage in Perry Township as well a request for a plat of the combined acreages.
