Road work will begin Tuesday in Mitchell on a project that includes Burr Street, Havens Avenue and the state Highway 37 bypass.
Work will begin with the installation of lane closures on Burr Street to begin saw-cutting for concrete pavement repairs.
The following Tuesday, April 10, concrete repair work will continue on Burr Street and inside-lane closures will be installed on Havens Avenue to begin saw-cutting for pavement repairs.
Concrete repair work will also be ongoing on the state Highway 37 bypass during that time.
Lane closures and concrete repairs will occur at multiple locations during the project, which is scheduled to be done by the Fourth of July.
The project will also include installation of ADA curb ramps, asphalt overlay, lighting and traffic signals on Havens Avenue.
Motorists should stay alert to changing traffic patterns, slow travel, construction equipment and highway workers.
The completion date for the entire project is Oct. 26.
The prime contractor is Interstate Improvements, Inc.
