KEYSTONE (AP) — First lady Michelle Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha showed a hankering for history and a bit of a sweet tooth during a visit to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota.
The Obamas on Wednesday stopped at the Turtle Town old-fashioned fudge and ice cream shop in Keystone, where manager Deb Splinter served them treats.
Splinter tells the media that she served fudge and ice cream and visited with the First Family. She says the girls "were very sweet."
White House officials say the Obamas are on a private family trip to the West. Las Vegas was the next stop after South Dakota.
