PIERRE (AP) — A Mission man has been sentenced to 40 months in federal prison for a fatal traffic accident.

U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange on Tuesday sentenced 39-year-old Shad Dillon, who had pleaded guilty in January to involuntary manslaughter.

Brendan Johnson, U.S. attorney for South Dakota, says the convictions involved a June 30 crash in Mission. Dillon was driving in excess of the 45 mph speed limit and had been drinking. He crashed into another vehicle at 60 mph and killed two occupants of that vehicle.
