FORESTBURG — A weary driver dodged injury around 7 a.m. Saturday when he fell asleep at the wheel.
Sanborn County Sheriff Tom Fridley said Joshua Holman, 33, drove off state Highway 34 about three miles west of the east junction of that road and Highway 37. The road curves in that area, Fridley said, but Holman’s 1990 Buick did not.
“He apparently fell asleep, but the car was on cruise control,” Fridley said. The car was totaled when it went into a ditch and through a fence. Holman was not seriously injured and no ambulance services were required, Fridley said.
