Lake Andes man charged with sex contact and abuse crime

LAKE ANDES — A Lake Andes man was indicted Thursday on sexual contact and abuse charges.

LAKE ANDES — A Lake Andes man was indicted Thursday on sexual contact and abuse charges.

Kelly Joe Wells, 28, was indicted in Charles Mix County for sexual contact with a person incapable of consenting and one count of abuse of a disabled adult.

Both charges are felonies.

Wells faces a maximum punishment of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine for the sexual contact charge and 2 years in prison and a $4,000 fine for the abuse charge.
