A 22-year-old man pleaded guilty Tuesday to felony drug possession after being arrested in December in Mitchell.
Skyler Jonathan Stradley, of Spokane, Wash., pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of hashish after South Dakota Highway Patrol troopers found the drug in his vehicle during a traffic stop Dec. 18 on Interstate 90.
In exchange for Stradley’s plea, the state agreed to dismiss a marijuana possession charge and to recommend a suspended execution of his sentence.
Possession of hashish is a felony punishable by 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
Hashish is a resin that can be extracted from the cannabis plant, commonly known as the marijuana plant.
A presentence investigation was ordered and Stradley’s sentencing was set for April.
