Cornbelt girls top CBH 46-41 in all-star game

ALEXANDRIA — The girls’ Cornbelt Conference all-star team defeated the Custer Battlefield Highway Conference all-star team 46-41 in high school girls’ basketball action on Tuesday.

ALEXANDRIA — The girls’ Cornbelt Conference all-star team defeated the Custer Battlefield Highway Conference all-star team 46-41 in high school girls’ basketball action on Tuesday.

The Cornbelt team was led by Haley Jerman, of Canistota, who had nine points. Paige Herrboldt of Freeman and Alicia Kulish of Menno added eight points. Kaitlyn Stern of Freeman and Marissa Schwans of Bridgewater/Emery each scored six points.

Top scorers for the CBH team were Shelly Tilberg of Ethan and Katie Anderson of Plankinton, who each scored 10 points. Jill Jandreau and Anne Knippling, of Kimball/White Lake scored seven points and six points respectively.

CBH boys top Cornbelt 70-51

ALEXANDRIA— The boys’ CBH Conference all-star team defeated the Cornbelt Conference all-star team 70-51 in high school boys’ basketball action on Tuesday.

Dean Frey of Mount Vernon led the CBH Conference team with 26 points. Justin Davis of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket added 11 points. Ryan Hanks of Ethan and Cameron Deinert of Mount Vernon each scored 10 points.

David Schelske of Menno led the Cornbelt Conference team with 12 points. Steven Whistler of Bridgewater/Emery added 11 points. Jacob Bartscher and Reid Smith of Hanson scored eight points and six points respectively.
