Second day roundup at state basketball tournaments: O'Gorman qualifies for third straight title game
RAPID CITY (AP) — Two-time defending champion Sioux Falls O’Gorman earned a berth in the South Dakota boys Class AA basketball tournament title game with a 65-51 win over Sioux Falls Washington in Friday’s semifinals.

O’Gorman (20-4) led 39-37 after three quarters and coasted to the win. The Knights have qualified for their straight Class AA state championships game.
Washington (15-10) will play for third place. The Warriors had their eight-game winning streak snapped.
S.F. Roosevelt dumps Huron
RAPID CITY (AP) — Nate Cole scored 23 points Friday as Sioux Falls Roosevelt defeated Huron 71-56 in a consolation game at the South Dakota boys Class AA basketball tournament.
Cole had two of the four 3-pointers for Roosevelt (13-12). He also made 11 of 13 free throws. Lucas Miller added 11 points.
Huron (15-11) shot just 39 percent from the field. Zack Cranston had 14 points and Luke Carr added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers.
Brookings downs RC Central 78-59
RAPID CITY (AP) — Tanner Odegaard had six 3-pointers and 20 points to lead Brookings to a 78-59 win Friday over Rapid City Central in a consolation game at the South Dakota boys Class AA basketball tournament.
Brookings (16-7) threw a balanced offense and 12 3-pointers at the Cobblers (9-15).
Alex Irvine had 12 points, Connor Doherty had three 3-pointers and 11 points and Jordan Vandebush had 10 points and seven rebounds.
Cody Harris led Central in scoring with 22 points, and Robert Connot chipped in 15 points and 11 boards.
St. Thomas More beats Dell Rapids
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Eric Hensch scored 15 points as St. Thomas More advanced to the title game with a 48-38 win over Dell Rapids Friday in the semifinals of the South Dakota boys Class A basketball tournament.
Hensch had three of his team’s seven 3-pointers. The Cavaliers (23-2) will be playing for their fifth title in the last seven years. They shot 52 percent from the field to reach the championship game.
Jeremy Henderson had 12 points and nine rebounds for St. Thomas More.
Cole Langer led Dell Rapids (20-5) with 15 points.
Dakota Valley beats Aberdeen Roncalli 67-59
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Brock Bergmann poured in 33 points to help Dakota Valley to a 67-59 semifinal victory over Aberdeen Roncalli on Friday at the South Dakota boys Class A basketball tournament.
Bergmann hit nine of 11 field goal attempts and cashed in on 15 of 16 free throw attempts for the Panthers (22-3).
He pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
Blake VanGinkel added 19 points for Dakota Valley.
Ross Barton paced Roncalli (16-8) with 19 points and seven rebounds.
Castlewood beats Dupree at Class B
ABERDEEN (AP) — Jordan Feyerisen scored 21 points and Gunnar Johnson added 17 as Castlewood beat Dupree 76-60 in a consolation game at the South Dakota boys Class B basketball tournament on Friday.
Feyerisen hit six of 11 shots from the field, including two 3-pointers, for the Warriors (16-8).
Lucas Ching chipped in 15 points and four assists.
Castlewood shot 62 percent from the field.
Nate Widow poured in 25 points on 11-for-18 shooting for Dupree (21-4).
White River routs Sully Buttes 61-34
ABERDEEN (AP) — White River got 19 points from Nic Waln in a 61-34 semifinal victory over Sully Buttes Friday at the South Dakota boys Class B basketball tournament.
Waln hit four of the Tigers’ five 3-pointers. Matthew Gillen added 12 points and Gilbert Morrison 11 for White River (24-1), which shot 55 percent from the field.
White River led 28-14 at half.
Jordan Lamb scored 12 points and Conner Uhlir 11 to pace the Chargers (21-4), which shot 34 percent from the outside.
Morrison had nine rebounds, helping White River to a 27-19 advantage on the boards.
Viborg-Hurley edges Langford
ABERDEEN (AP) — Andrew Hora helped Viborg-Hurley post a 37-36 semifinal victory over Langford on Friday in the South Dakota boys Class basketball tournament.
Hora scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds to pace the Cougars (23-2). Viborg-Hurley built a 22-17 halftime lead and hung on for the win.
The Cougars shot 37.5 percent from the field and held the Lions to 25 percent.
Kyle Johnson topped Langford (22-3) with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Nick Alberts added 11 points.
