Warwick made 8 of 22 3-pointers and finished with 30 points for the Cavaliers (22-2). St. Thomas More made 12 of 29 3-point attempts overall.
Kilby Rech added 14 points and eight rebounds.
Tri-Valley missed two shots in the last 5 seconds of the first overtime.
Brett Page had 22 points and Trae Bergh added 20 for the Mustangs (16-8). Kenton Weibig chipped in 14 points.
SF Washington rallies past Brookings 53-47
RAPID CITY (AP) — Sioux Falls Washington rallied from a 10-point deficit after three quarters to beat Brookings 53-47 Thursday in the first round of the South Dakota boys Class AA basketball tournament.
The Warriors (15-7) outscored Brookings 24-8 in the final quarter to earn a berth in the semifinals. Brookings (19-5) led 49-39 after three quarters.
Joey Habtermariam led the way with 28 points. He was 10-for-13 from the free throw line, helping Washington to a 12-2 avantage in free throw scoring.
Justin Trett had three 3-pointers and 13 points for the Warriors.
Brookings got 17 points from Tanner Odegaard and 16 from Connor Doherty. They each had four of the Bobcats’ nine 3-pointers.
Dakota Valley beats Clark-WL
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Blake VanGinkel made three free throws in the final seconds as Dakota Valley held off Clark-Willow Lake 52-50 Thursday in a first-round game at the South Dakota boys Class A basketball tournament.
VanGinkel hit two shots with 18 seconds left and another with 8 seconds to play for the Panthers (21-3).
Mitch Prouty’s 3-pointer with 9 seconds remaining kept Clark-Willow Lake (16-7) within striking distance, but Sam Lindgren’s shot to tie the game at the buzzer missed the mark.
SF O’Gorman downs RC Central
RAPID CITY (AP) — Connor Schaefbauer scored 20 points to lead Sioux Falls O’Gorman to a 47-40 win over Rapid City Central in the first round of the South Dakota boys Class B basketball tournament on Thursday.
Schaefbauer was the only O’Gorman (19-4) player to reach double figures in scoring.
The Knights outscored the Cobblers 16-9 in the fourth quarter.
Central (9-14) got 15 points from Robbert Connot and 12 from Cody Harris.
O’Gorman shot just 39 percent from the field, while the Cobblers hit 43 percent.
Pierre overpowers Huron at Class AA
RAPID CITY (AP) — Lane Severyn powered Pierre to a 62-44 quarterfinal victory over Huron on Thursday in the South Dakota boys Class AA basketball tournament.
Severyn scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the way for the Governors (17-7). Zach Hanson added 11 points, and Connor Berg had 10.
Pierre outscored Huron 35-23 in the second half to pull away. The Governors shot 38 percent from the field and cashed in on 20 of 25 free throw attempts. Pierre out rebounded Huron 41-31.
The Tigers (14-10) got 10 points from Luke Carr.
Sully Buttes rolls over Dupree 51-31
ABERDEEN (AP) — Jordan Lamb scored 25 points as Sully Buttes pulled away from Dupree Thursday to post a 51-31 win over the Tigers in the first round of the South Dakota boys Class B basketball tournament.
Lamb was 10-for-13 from the free throw line for the Chargers (21-3), who outscored Dupree 15-3 from the line.
Conner Uhlir had 12 points and nine rebounds, and Jalen Lamb chipped in 10 points and three assists.
Nate Widow led the Tigers (21-3) with 13 points and six boards.
White River rolls over Castlewood
ABERDEEN (AP) — Joe Cameron scored 16 points as White River defeated Castlewood 54-33 Thursday in a first-round game at the South Dakota boys Class B basketball tournament.
Cameron had four of the Tigers’ (23-1) five 3-pointers. Cody Young had 11 points and Wyatt Krogman added 10.
Castlewood (15-8) fell behind 22-2 to start the game but rallied to get within 41-31 with 3:00 left in the third quarter. But the Warriors scored just two points the rest of the game.
Gunner Johnson led Castlewood with nine points.
Viborg-Hurley beats W-W 48-27
ABERDEEN (AP) — Dennis DeNeui had 21 points to lead Viborg-Hurley to a 48-27 win over Wolsey-Wessington in a first-round game at the South Dakota boys Class B basketball tournament on Thursday.
DeNeui had two 3-pointers and went 8-for-15 from the field for the Cougars (22-2). He was the only Viborg-Hurley player in double figures.
Wolsey-Wessington (20-4), which shot just 22 percent from the field, never scored more than nine points in any quarter. They trailed 15-4 after the first quarter. Hayden Hooks led the Warbirds with six points.
