SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Dominic King's putback with 8 seconds left helped Aberdeen Roncalli post a 57-54 quarterfinal victory over Chamberlain on Thursday in the South Dakota boys Class A basketball tournament.
With the Cavaliers leading 55-54, King grabbed an offensive rebound and scored, giving Roncalli a 3-point lead. Tyson Langdeau's attempt at a game-tying 3-pointer missed at the buzzer for Chamberlain.
Kory Schwan hit four of Roncalli's nine 3-pointers and finished with 12 points to lead the Cavaliers (16-7). King had 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Brayden McNeary added 11 points, while Kendall Deutsch and Ross Barton each contributed 10.
Langdeau hit four of the Cubs’ six 3-pointers and led the way with 16 points. Colton Anderson added 13, Traxton Priebe 12 and Gage Basting 11 for Chamberlain (20-4). Basting added a team-high seven rebounds.
