Man sentenced for BIA building theft

An Eagle Butte man has been sentenced to 10 months in custody and two years of supervised release for stealing two pieces of art and a box of blankets from a Cheyenne River Sioux government building.

An Eagle Butte man has been sentenced to 10 months in custody and two years of supervised release for stealing two pieces of art and a box of blankets from a Cheyenne River Sioux government building.

U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson announced that 42-year-old Delon Holy Bear must also pay $461 restitution and a $100 special assessment fee.

Holy Bear pleaded guilty in December to the third-degree burglary charge.
