MTI President to update Davison County commissioners on school
Mitchell Technical Institute President Greg Von Wald will appear before the Davison County commissioners Tuesday to update the county panel on his school’s progress, workforce development goals and to discuss the school’s vision for a major intersection that serves the school.

The intersection at Spruce Street and Highway 37 has taken on greater importance for MTI as the school has grown in recent years and it will become even more crucial when the entire campus consolidates next year.
The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Room at the courthouse, 200 E. Fourth Ave., Mitchell.
The agenda includes:
• 9 a.m. Call to order, approval of past meeting minutes, citizen input.
• 9:30 a.m. Jail Administrator Don Radel regarding the setting of salaries, and employee recognition.
• 9:45 a.m. Welfare Director Dawn Grissom with a quarterly welfare report.
• 10 a.m. Official setting of spring load limits, effective March 19.
•10:15 a.m. Von Wald regarding updates to school programs, Spruce Street intersection issues.
• 11 a.m. The commission will meet as the Board of Adjustment.
• 11:30 a.m. Consideration to approve unspecified plat, as recommended by the county Planning and Zoning Commission.
• 11:45 a.m. Miscellaneous items for consideration including the approval of bills for payment, the approval of tax abatements, and the balance of the auditor’s account with the treasurer.
