O’Farrell scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the way for the Eagles (24-2).
Summit shot 47 percent from the field and held Sully Buttes to 34 percent. The Eagles built a 21-10 halftime lead en route to the victory.
The Chargers (23-3) got 10 points and seven rebounds from Taryn Colson.
Sisseton beats Pine Ridge 52-41
SPEARFISH (AP) — Hot shooting carried Sisseton to a 52-41 victory over Pine Ridge in the fifth-place game of the South Dakota girls Class A basketball tournament on Saturday.
The Redmen (23-3) shot 53 percent from the field for the game, including 71 percent (12 for 17) in the second half. Jordyn Kirk led the way with 14 points, while Shelby Greeley added 12 and Danni Frederick 10.
Brooke Pond posted a game-high 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Thorpes (18-7). Pine Ridge shot 30 percent from the field.
Parker rolls over Edgemont 75-51
HURON (AP) — Anna Leloux scored 18 points and Morgan Hay added 16 to lead Parker to a 75-51 win over Edgemont in the seventh-place game at the South Dakota girls Class B basketball tournament on Saturday.
Parker (17-9) outscored Edgemont 21-4 in the third quarter and coasted the rest of the way. The Moguls (18-7) struggled from the field, shooting just 31 percent.
Leloux was 8-for-11 from the free throw line.
Micalanne Hanten had 14 points and Tessa Weeldreyer added 12 points and 15 rebounds for Parker.
Lacy Stevens led Edgemont with 20 points and Kyla Porter chipped in with 10.
Aberdeen Central downs Sioux Falls O’Gorman 48-40
BROOKINGS (AP) — Brynn Flakus carried Aberdeen Central to a 48-40 win over Sioux Falls O’Gorman Saturday in the fifth-place game at the South Dakota girls Class AA basketball tournament.
Flakus led the Golden Eagles (18-8) in scoring with 14 points and rebounding with nine. Samantha Knecht had 11 points and Kelcy Schaunaman chipped in 10.
Central made 23 of 30 free throws while O’Gorman (15-11) made eight of nine.
Chandler Nielsen had 15 points for the Knights.
RC Stevens beats RC Central 43-40
BROOKINGS (AP) — Margaret McCloud had 13 points and Rapid City Stevens came from behind in the fourth quarter to beat Rapid City Central 43-40 Saturday in the seventh-place game at the South Dakota girls Class AA basketball tournament.
The Raiders (14-11) trailed 36-30 after three quarters, but they outscored the Cobblers 13-4 in the final period. Stevens shot 37 percent, while Central (11-15) hit just 29 percent.
McCloud was 6-for-8 from the field and had six rebounds.
Chelsey Carmichael led Central with 11 points.
SF Roosevelt beats Lynx
BROOKINGS (AP) — Sioux Falls Roosevelt outscored 2011 state champion Brandon Valley 19-2 in the second quarter and coasted to a 62-51 win Saturday in the third-place game at the South Dakota girls Class AA basketball tournament.
The game was tied 14-14 after one quarter, but the Rough Riders (18-8) led 33-16 at the half.
Sydney Rome had four 3-pointers and 16 points to lead Roosevelt. Paige Mriden had three 3-pointers and 10 points.
The Lynx’s Heidi Hoff had game highs in points with 25 and rebounds with nine. She was 8-for-8 from the line and the Lynx (17-9) made all 12 of their free throw attempts.
Clark-Willow Lake edges Vermillion
SPEARFISH (AP) — Chynna Stevens poured in 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Clark-Willow Lake survived a last-second shot to beat Vermillion 50-47 in overtime Saturday in the seventh-place game at the South Dakota girls Class A basketball tournament.
Vermillion (18-7) had a chance to send the game to a second overtime but missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Stevens had three 3-pointers and made all six of her free throws for Clark-Willow Lake (20-5). Mindy Grensberg and Mackenzie Huber added 10 points apiece.
Val Robinson and Lexi Regernus had 10 points apiece for the Tangers, who shot just 27 percent.
Clark-Willow Lake outscored Vermillion 13-5 from the line.
Elkton-Lake Benton beats Miller 63-49
SPEARFISH (AP) — Cassidy Gebhart scored 25 points to lead Elkton-Lake Benton to a 63-49 victory over Miller in the third-place game of the South Dakota girls Class A basketball tournament on Saturday.
Gebhart pulled down seven rebounds, dished out five assists and added eight steals for the Elks (22-4) in the win. Elkton-Lake Benton built a 15-point halftime lead and shot 43 percent from the field to 39 percent for Miller.
Rebecca Jurgens added 10 points for the Elks.
Jansen Hunter posted a double-double for the Rustlers (21-4) with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
