Tax freeze applications due April 1

The Davison County Treasurer’s Office reminds those ages 65 and older or those disabled prior to Jan. 1, 2012, to apply for the property tax assessment freeze before April 1.
Qualifications include income less than $25,116.03 for single people and $31,395.04 for multiple-person households. Homes must also have a value of less than $174,401.17.
Proof of disability (if applicable) is required each year upon application for the freeze. All forms of income from 2011 or a 2011 income tax return must be presented in the Treasurer’s Office for verification. The assessment freeze must be applied for on a yearly basis.
