Woman sentenced for assaulting sister with car

SIOUX FALLS (AP) — A South Dakota woman accused of using a car as a weapon against her sister has been sentenced to more than a year in prison.

SIOUX FALLS (AP) — A South Dakota woman accused of using a car as a weapon against her sister has been sentenced to more than a year in prison.

U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says 28-year-old Robin Chasing Hawk of Eagle Butte was sentenced to 15 months in custody and three years of supervised release.

Chasing Hawk was accused of hitting her sister with her car during an argument last August in Eagle Butte. The sister suffered a broken neck and pelvis. Chasing Hawk pleaded guilty in December to assault with a dangerous weapon.
