SDSU men beat Western Illinois in OT, advance to national tournament

SIOUX FALLS — The South Dakota State University men’s basketball team defeated Western Illinois 52-50 in overtime Tuesday to win the Summit League tournament.

SIOUX FALLS — The South Dakota State University men’s basketball team defeated Western Illinois 52-50 in overtime Tuesday to win the Summit League tournament.

The Jackrabbits (27-7) qualified for their first-ever NCAA Division I national tournament with the victory.

Nate Wolters had 14 points, Griffan Callahan had 10 and Chad White had nine for SDSU, which trailed 28-24 at halftime.

Western Illinois had a game-high 19 points.
