SIOUX FALLS (AP) — A Sioux Falls man who led police on a high-speed chase last week and caused a fatal traffic accident has been charged with first-degree manslaughter.

Kyle Lee Jones, 19, of Sioux Falls faces a slew of charges stemming from the accident that killed another driver, 33-year-old Jade Thie of Sioux Falls, on Thursday.

First-degree manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of life in prison. Jones has also been charged with eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle and grand theft.

Authorities say Jones led police on a chase that reached speeds of more than 80 miles per hour before crashing. Passengers in each of the vehicles sustained life-threatening injuries.
