ETHAN: Students collect Pennies for Patients

The Ethan School has been involved in a Pennies for Patients contest. The students have collected a total of $2,458.06 to give to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients program.

The Ethan School has been involved in a Pennies for Patients contest.

The students have collected a total of $2,458.06 to give to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients program. First place in the contest was the eighth-grade class with a total of $344.81. The seventh-grade class got second place with a total of $279.11.

Stephanie Kobes, guidance counselor, would like to thank all of the students and parents for their donations.

Congratulations to all the students who participated in the Corn Palace Regional Spelling Bee on Feb. 25. Three students from Ethan placed in the spelling bee: sixth grade: Jonathon Freeman, first place; seventh grade, Haley Lippert, second place; and fourth grade, Erica Storm, sixth place. Way to go, students.

Congratulations to Matthew Freeman, fourth-grader, who has qualified to represent Ethan and participate at the state level of the National Geographic Bee, sponsored by Google and Plum Creek, at South Dakota State University in Brookings on March 30.

Events this week:

Tuesday: Region 6B boys’ basketball tournament at the Corn Palace.

Friday: No school — spring break.
