LETTER: Let women make own bodily decisions

I think it is time for us to face this male passion against women having the nerve to believe they know what to do with their own bodies. Do men really want to have 10-15 kids to support? Neither do women.

To the Editor:

I think it is time for us to face this male passion against women having the nerve to believe they know what to do with their own bodies. Do men really want to have 10-15 kids to support? Neither do women.

I would never have an abortion, but is it my business to forbid others doing what they need to do with their bodies?

According to some men, even a health danger or rape, if it turns out to be a pregnancy, a woman has no right to decide what she wants to do about it. And, she has no business taking anything to keep from becoming pregnant after she has had her family.

Men seem to believe that women (wives) should be limited to twice a month to have sex. Will the man (husband) do without sex? No. There are professionals and mistresses who protect themselves to take care of his (husband’s) needs.

There is a mistaken idea out there that women don’t want or need sex. But men must have it — a necessity. I have news for men. Women like and need sex just as much as men, but they don’t want to have 10-15 children. And I can’t imagine why anyone should think contraceptives are a bad thing and a great sin and danger to women. Anyone who takes this attitude has no real affection or knowledge of the female species. And it is men who are determined to make the rules about women’s bodies.

Please, ladies, don’t vote for a man (or a woman) who has no more respect for women than to vote to control the bodies of our women.

Remember your man won’t deprive himself of sex.
