Area Basketball: Robinson’s 20-20 game helps Wagner top Parkston

WAGNER — Jack Robinson had a double-double as Wagner defeated Parkston 44-29 in the District 10A semifinals Friday.
Robinson scored 25 points and had 24 rebounds. Noah St. Pierre added 13 points for the Red Raiders and had five assists.
Wagner made 14-of-44 field goals attempts and 15-of-30 free throws. The teams got 34 total rebounds and committed 10 turnovers.
Kyle Hohn led Parkston in scoring with 11 points. Spencer Lucas and Tanner Weber each grabbed six rebounds. Hohn had three assists for the Trojans.
Parkston shot 8-of-37 from the field and 13-of-19 from the free-throw line. The Trojans had 22 team rebounds and 10 turnovers.
Wagner is 11-10 and plays Platte-Geddes today in Platte at 7 p.m. Parkston ends its season at 7-14.

Platte-Geddes 63, Bon Homme 53
PLATTE — Platte-Geddes had four players score in double figures as the Black Panthers defeated Bon Homme 63-53 in the District 10A semifinals Friday.
Platte-Geddes was led by Matthew Randall with 17 points. Richard Sternbern scored 14 points. Cody Wagner and Dillon Werkmeister each scored 10 points. Werkmeister led the defense with seven rebounds.
Platte-Geddes shot 19-of-42 and 18-of-23 free-throw line. The Black Panthers had 24 team rebounds and eight turnovers.
Kodi Larson scored 14 points for Bon Homme. Scott Van Winkle and Charlie Bentzen each scored 12 points. Mike Mesman scored 11 points. Benson led the defense with seven rebounds.
Bon Homme shot 21-of-43 from the field and 5-of-12 from the free-throw line. The Cavaliers got 25 team rebounds and committed 16 turnovers.
Platte-Geddes (15-6) hosts Wagner in the District 10A championship at 7 p.m. tonight in Platte. Bon Homme ends its season with a 3-18 record.

Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 68, Howard 62
RAMONA — Oldham-Ramona/Rutland outscored Howard 11-5 in overtime to win a District 4B semifinal game 68-62 Friday.
Braxton Olson scored 21 points for ORR. Ryan Schlisner scored 16 points. Garrett DeRungs scored 12 points. Mike Minor scored 11 points.
Oldham-Ramona/Rutland shot 21-of-52 from the field and 15-of-24 from the free-throw line. The Raiders grabbed 22 team rebounds and turned the ball over 13 times.
Howard was led by Cal Wiese with 22 points. Andrew Schwader scored 15 points. Steve Larsen pulled down eight rebounds.
Howard shot 21-of-55 from the field and made 12 free throws on 20 attempts. The Tigers grabbed 25 rebounds as a team and committed 17 turnovers.
Oldham-Ramona/Rutland (11-9) plays Colman-Egan for the District 4B championship at the Swiftel Center in Brookings today at 8 p.m. Howard ends its season 4-17.

MITCHELL — Adam Fink scored 28 points to lead Tripp-Delmont/Armour to a 59-46 win over South Central in the District 12B championship Friday.
Trevor Payer scored 11 points for the Nighthawks and led the team in rebounds with nine. Fink added five rebounds and had four assists.
Tripp-Delmont/Armour shot 16-of-37 from the field and 23-of-29 from the free-throw line. The Nighthawks had 22 rebounds as a team and turned the ball over 12 times.
Dakota Votaw was the leading scorer for South Central with 13 points. Brian Juran scored 10 points and Tyler Frank added eight. Derek Sachten led the team’s defense with eight rebounds. Frank had five assists and Votaw had four.
The Cougars shot 19-of-55 from the field and 4-of-10 from the free-throw line. South Central grabbed a team total of 20 rebounds and committed eight turnovers.
Tripp-Delmont/Armour (16-6) plays the District 11B champion for the Region 6B championship Tuesday at the Corn Palace in Mitchell. South Central finishes its season with a 10-11 record.

HARRISBURG — Number two seed Tri-Valley upset number one seed McCook Central/Montrose 63-55 to win the District 9A championship Friday.
Tri-Valley was led by Trae Bergh with 27 points. Brendon Boomsma scored 13 points. Brett Page scored 11 points.
Jordan Wolf scored 24 points for McCook Central/Montrose. Shayne Gottlob scored 19 points and had 15 rebounds. Gavin Gassman scored 12 points.
Tri-Valley (15-7) plays the District 10A champion at 7 p.m. Tuesday. McCook Central/Montrose finishes its season at 17-4.

Girls’ Basketball
Miller 55, Mobridge-Pollock 50
GETTYSBURG — The Miller Rustlers girls’ basketball team earned a trip to the state tournament with its 55-50 win over Mobridge-Pollock in the Region 6A championship Friday.
Alexis Watts led the Rustlers with 16 points. Mallory Fischer scored 13 points. Jansen Hunter scored nine points and had six rebounds.
Miller shot 20-of-39 from the field and made 14 free throws in 27 attempts. The Rustlers grabbed 20 rebounds as a team and turned the ball over 20 times.
Cassidy Ulmer led Mobridge-Pollock’s scoring with 22 points. Kylee Kettering scored 10 points. Ulmer grabbed nine rebounds for the Lady Tigers and Kettering added seven.
Mobridge-Pollock shot 16-of-49 from the field and 17-of-31 from the free-throw line. The team had 30 total rebounds and 18 turnovers.
Miller goes into the tournament with a 20-2 record. The State A Girls’ Basketball tournament is March 8-10 in Spearfish. Mobridge-Pollock ends its season at 15-8.
