PIERRE (AP) — Unemployment in South Dakota decreased in January.
The state Labor Department reports the monthly jobless rate at 4.2 percent, compared to 4.3 percent in December.
The national unemployment rate in January was 8.3 percent, a decrease from 8.5 percent in December.
State Labor and Regulation Secretary Pam Roberts says the industries adding the most nonfarm workers include manufacturing, retail trade, professional and business services, and education and health services.
