South Dakota offers new alert service for travelers

PIERRE (AP) — South Dakota travelers can now receive alerts by email or text messages.

The service is called ClearPath 511. It provides up-to-date information on road closures, travel advisories and highway flooding. Standard text messaging rates will apply.

Users can customize their alerts for specific routes, days, and times.
