Bonesteel man pleads not guilty to sexual abuse

A Bonesteel man has pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual abuse and child abuse.

A Bonesteel man has pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual abuse and child abuse.

Robert Louis Prue Jr., 34, was indicted by a federal grand jury last month for aggravated sexual abuse, abusive sexual contact, sexual abuse of a minor, sexual contact with a minor and child abuse. He appeared before a federal judge on Feb. 16 and pleaded not guilty to the indictment.

If Prue is found guilty, he could face life in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement.

A jury trial has been scheduled for April.

Prue will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service while he awaits trial.
