FREEMAN — Emergency workers were called to the scene of a rollover accident just after 11 a.m. Monday for a semi-truck hauling liquid propane that went into the ditch and rolled, pinning the driver for nearly two hours.

The accident happened when Rochelle Dannenbring, of Freeman, was driving the semi northbound on 435th Avenue, one mile north of state Highway 44 and seven miles northwest of Freeman.

According to Highway Patrol Trooper Aaron Hanson, the semi’s passenger tires drifted into the east ditch, shifting the liquid propane and causing the vehicle to roll.

Emergency crews from Freeman and Hutchinson County worked for two hours sawing away debris and metal from the rolled semi to free the trapped driver.

Dannenbring was taken to Freeman Community Hospital and treated for only minor injuries. She was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.

According to Hanson, no liquid propane was spilled during the accident.

The incident is still under investigation and no citations have been written.
