The 28th Annual Mitchell Christian School Benefit Auction was a record-breaker, event chairman Todd Tegethoff said Sunday.
“We received a total of $126,000,” he said.
That amount topped by $12,000 last year’s auction, which earned $114,000 for the Christian school. This year’s total was the largest tally the event’s history.
Among the top auction items was an NFL football autographed by Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.
Famed South Dakota wildlife artist John Green, of Madison, was a special guest at the event.
Green’s art has earned more than $3 million for Ducks Unlimited. He painted a piece during the auction that later sold for $10,000.
Tegethoff said the buyer requested anonymity.
