ETHAN: 30 students sing in prep vocal contest in Kimball

Thirty students, accompanied by choir director Erin Desmond, participated in the high school vocal contest on in Kimball on Feb. 8.
Students receiving a superior rating on a vocal solo were Brittan Flanagan and Hanner Tilberg. Students receiving an excellent rating on a vocal solo were Kardel Miiller and Alyssa Hettinger.
Students receiving a superior rating for a vocal ensemble included Holley Lindeman, Alexis Neugebauer, Shelby McBrayer, Tori Pollreisz and Alex Gerlach.
Students receiving a superior rating on two vocal ensembles include Shelly Tilberg, Danika Pollreisz, Bailey Grenoble, Alyssa Hettinger and Jessica Harvey. Anna Mueller received a superior rating on all three vocal ensembles.
Students receiving an excellent rating for a vocal ensemble include Hanner Tilberg, Cameron Wittstruck, Matt Houston, Dan Bame, Wyatt McBrayer, Anthony Donovan, Jordan Grosdidier, Kardel Miiller, Kassidy Bricker, Haleigh Riggs, Aliea Krestchmer-Webster, Morgan Tuttle, Flora Roubiceaux, Brittan Flanagan, Shelby Donaldson, Maggie Mueller, Darbi Gustafson, Courtney Bierle, Katie Bicek, Jessica Harvey and Alyssa Hettinger.
• The Character Counts being recognized in January was responsibility. Students were observed demonstrating the pillar of responsibility and a brick was put on the wall in their recognition.
All of the bricks were put into a container and names were drawn out and winners received a T-shirt. The following is a list of T-shirt winners for January: junior kindergarten: Tayler Storm and Hailey Voeltz; kindergarten: Jaron Nesheim and Madie Bartscher; first grade: Danaya Lee and Ty McClure; second grade: Clay Hohn and Kaden Klumb; third grade; Alison Voeltz and Gabby Sonne; fourth grade: Erica Storm and Carly VanRoekel; fifth grade: Jakob Storm and Myles Howard; sixth grade: Tristan Scott and Derek Storm.; seventh grade: Hannah Hohn and Ellie Hohn; and eighth grade: Lance Bruske and Camden Myers.

Tuesday: Girls’ basketball vs. Freeman at Freeman.
Friday: Parent-teacher conferences, 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. No school for students. Boys’ basketball vs. Tripp-Delmont-Armour at Ethan. This is also Parents’ Night.
