STURGIS — Sugarland is bringing its driving country sound to the Sturgis Buffalo Chip for the 2012 motorcycle rally.

The country duo, which features the soaring voice of Jennifer Nettles and the pulsating twang of Kristian Bush’s guitar, has been a mainstay on the country charts for several years.

The Grammy Award-winning group jumped onto the music scene in 2004 with the hit song “Baby Girl.” Since their debut, they have sold more than 8 million albums. Sugarland’s hits over the years include “Just Might,” “Already Gone,” “All I Want To Do,” “Stay,” and “Something More.”

Songs from their most recent album, “The Incredible Machine” include “Stuck Like Glue,” “Wide Open” and “Stand Up.”

The duo made headlines for a tragic reason last summer when a stage at the Indiana State Fair collapsed before they started their show after a high wind struck. Seven people were killed and more than 45 injured.

Sugarland later performed a benefit concert for victims of the accident.

Sugarland joins the Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s growing 2012 concert lineup that includes southern-rock legend Lynyrd Skynyrd.

As always the Sturgis Buffalo Chip will feature nine straight days and nights of music and entertainment in August during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

“We are very excited to have Sugarland back,” said Rod Woodruff, owner of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. “The crowd loves Sugarland. They put on an unforgettable show and provide a welcomed blend of genres that will enhance the party for everyone.”
