A Fort Thompson woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol with minors in the vehicle.

Kristy M. His Law, 22, appeared before Judge Roberto A. Lange.

The maximum penalty is two years in prison, a $25,000 fine and one year of supervised release.

His Law’s conviction stems from an August incident when she drove from a residence where she’d been drinking alcohol. She swerved and drove into the ditch, went back onto the roadway and then crashed into the opposite ditch.

Four people, including two minors, were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Several of them suffered injuries.

His Law’s blood alcohol content was 0.168 at 8:56 a.m. and 0.161 at 9:45 a.m. The state legal driving limit is 0.08.

Judge Lange ordered a presentence investigation and set sentencing for April.
