Three arrested for drug possession, distribution

Police arrested three men in a drug bust Monday and seized more than 2 pounds of marijuana and $7,800 from a home in Mitchell.
Patrick James Clark, 37, and Mikki Jo Keeble, 26, both of Mitchell, were arrested after police conducted a search of their home and discovered the marijuana and cash, and about 1 ounce of hashish.
Clark and Keeble were charged with three felonies as a result of the bust. For possessing more than 1 pound of marijuana with the intent to distribute, each could face 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
In addition, each was charged with two felonies for possession of marijuana and hashish, for which they could receive 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine on each charge.
Hashish is a resin that can be extracted from the cannabis plant, commonly known as the marijuana plant.
Rodney Lee Bahm, 47, also of Mitchell, was also arrested in connection with the search. Bahm was charged with possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bahm could receive one year in jail and a $2,000 fine for marijuana possession and another 30 days in jail and a $500 fine for drug paraphernalia.
The James Valley Drug Task Force conducted the investigation for this case with assistance from the Mitchell Police Division, the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and the sheriff ’s offices of Davison, Hanson, Sanborn and Aurora counties.
Detective Lt. Don Everson said Mitchell police were able to obtain a search warrant on Monday to conduct this operation.
As the investigation into the case is ongoing, he declined to provide any details as to what led police to conduct the search.
