Emergency workers responded to an Interstate 90 accident five miles east of Alexandria on Wednesday morning as poor visibility and slick roads made driving conditions dangerous.

Scanner reports said the initial accident happened when a car and semi collided, and the woman in the car was reportedly unresponsive after the crash.

At the scene, a number of emergency workers were trying to warn incoming traffic of the accident.

Fog caused poor visibility at the accident site, allowing drivers to see only about 100 feet in front of them.

A pickup pulling a camper and at least two other cars were in the ditch in the area of the first accident.
