The South Dakota Highway Patrol arrested a man Monday for fleeing law enforcement.

A gas station attendant in White Lake called authorities when the man apparently left without paying for his gasoline.

Law enforcement received a description of the vehicle from the attendant at about 3:20 p.m.

Trooper Mark Nelson said law enforcement chased the vehicle onto gravel county roads.

The 12-mile pursuit began at mile marker 332 on Interstate 90 and led law enforcement to gravel roads, going up to 90 mph, Nelson said. The pursuit lasted about eight minutes.

The driver eventually lost control of his vehicle and rolled into the ditch.

No further information was immediately available.
