Cigarette butt likely cause of saloon fire

QUINN (AP) — A cigarette butt discarded into a potted plant is the suspected cause of a fire that destroyed a longtime bar and restaurant in the southwest South Dakota town of Quinn.

QUINN (AP) — A cigarette butt discarded into a potted plant is the suspected cause of a fire that destroyed a longtime bar and restaurant in the southwest South Dakota town of Quinn.

State Fire Marshal Paul Merriman tells the media that the investigation into the Jan. 6 blaze at the Two Bit Saloon and Steakhouse along U.S. Highway 14 is complete, and the fire has been deemed accidental.

No one was hurt in the fire.
