Springs Auto owner undecided on rebuilding

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — The owner of the Wessington Springs business that was destroyed in a fire last week has not yet decided whether he will rebuild.

Lawrence Caffee, owner of Springs Auto, said he will not make his decision on whether to rebuild his car dealership and service center at its Main Street location in Wessington Springs until all the insurance investigations relating to the Jan. 3 fire are complete.

Wessington Springs Fire Chief Keith Wetzel said as of Tuesday, investigators still had not determined the exact cause of the fire, but had ruled it an accident.

No one was injured in the fire, but the building along with several cars and four-wheelers were destroyed.
