PARKSTON — Hanson defeated Parkston 54-40 in a boys’ high school basketball game Monday.
Reid Smith scored 14 points for Hanson. Jordan Marquardt scored 12 points and Jacob Bartscher scored 10 points.
The Beavers made 19-of-37 field goals 12-of-17 free throws. Hanson had 11 turnovers.
Tanner Weber scored 12 points for Parkston. The Trojans shot 14-of-40 field goals and 6-of-8 free throws. The team had 14 turnovers.
Hanson (7-1) plays Friday hosts Mount Vernon. Parkston (2-5) hosts Freeman today.
Parkston won the junior varsity game 29-14.

Menno 38, Marion 19
MARION — The Menno boys’ basketball team improved its record to 3-4 with a 38-19 win over Marion (1-6) Monday.
Austin Herrboldt led Menno with eight points, 11 rebounds and four steals. Ben Fischer scored eight points and had eight rebounds for the Wolves. David Schelske had eight rebounds.
Menno shot 10-of-59 field goals and 13-of-18 free throws. The team had 38 rebounds and 11 turnovers.
Jacob Wuertz was the leading scorer for Marion with 10 points. Wuertz, Joey Pessia, and Andrew Nelson each had eight rebounds.
The Bears shot 6-of-38 from the field and 7-of-12 from the free-throw line. The team had 34 rebounds and 30 turnovers.
Menno hosts Bridgewater-Emery Friday. Marion plays at Freeman Academy today.

Ethan 61, Wessington Springs 41
ETHAN — Ethan picked up a win over Wessington Springs 61-41 Monday in a boys’ basketball game.
Blake Bartscher scored 21 points and had eight assists in the win. Ryan Hanks scored 12 points. Kendall Lindeman had nine rebounds and Jace Connor got seven assists.
The Rustlers shot 26-of-48 from the field and 8-of-15 from the free-throw line. Ethan had 27 rebounds and 15 turnovers.
Terrek Butterfield scored 18 points for Wessington Springs. Braden Jones scored nine points and had six rebounds. Trevor Kenobbie had six rebounds.
Wessington Springs shot 15-of-47 from the field and 9-of-18 from the free-throw line. The Spartans had 23 rebounds and 18 turnovers.
Ethan is 5-2 and plays Bridgewater-Emery in Emery today. Wessington Springs is 4-3 and plays in the 281 Conference Tournament Saturday at Sunshine Bible Academy.

COLOME — Lyman (3-3) picked up a win over Colome 62-43 Monday. The score at halftime was 36-16 in favor of Lyman.
Jaylen Uthe led the scoring for Lyman with 22 points. Hunter Schindler scored 16 points.
Terrance Kinzer scored 12 points and had five rebounds for Colome. Jordan Nelson scored 12 points and Chris Hofeldt scored 10 points. Brady London had four rebounds and four assists.
The Cowboys shot 44 percent from the field and 63 percent from the free-throw line.
Lyman plays in the Jones County Tournament in Murdo Thursday. Colome plays Bennett County in Murdo Thursday in the Jones County Tournament.
Andes Central 64, Gregory 48
LAKE ANDES — Gabe Cournoyer scored 16 points to lead Andes Central over Gregory 64-48 Monday in a boys’ basketball game.
Neulan Dion scored 14 points in the win and had five steals. Aaron Swanson scored 11 points and had eight rebounds. Connor Florey had 13 rebounds. Cournoyer also had eight assists.
The Eagles shot 24-of-61 from the field and 13-of-29 from the free-throw line. Andes Central had 41 team rebounds and 17 turnovers.
Gavin Thomas was the scoring leader for Gregory with 18 points. Thomas also had 12 rebounds.
Gregory made 15-of-65 field goals and 13-of-20 free throws. The Gorillas had 41 rebounds and 15 turnovers.
Andes Central is 3-3 and plays at Scotland Friday. Gregory is 0-6 and plays South Central Friday in Burke.

Mount Vernon improved to 6-1 with a 80- 41 win over Scotland (0-7) Monday at the Corn Palace.
Dean Frey scored 13 points for the Mustangs. Kody Weiss scored 10 points and have five rebounds. Deric Denning and Cameron Deinert each scored nine points.
Mount Vernon made 40-of-67 field goals and 9-of-19 free throws. The Mustangs had 28 rebounds and eight turnovers.
Garret Kotalik scored 16 points for Scotland. Levi Geiman scored eight points.
Scotland shot 16-of-37 from the field and 10-of-15 from the free-throw line. The Highlanders had 20 rebounds and 19 turnovers.
Mount Vernon plays Hanson in Alexandria Friday. Scotland hosts Avon Thursday.

Ethan 74, Wessington Springs 37
ETHAN — Darbi Gustafson had a double-double for Ethan as the Rustlers defeated the Lady Spartans of Wessington Springs 74-37 Monday.
Gustafson scored 16 points and had 12 rebounds for Ethan. Bailey Grenoble and Shelly Tilberg each scored 10 points. Kaci Tuttle scored nine points and had five assists.
Ethan shot 28-of-57 from the field and 14-of-22 from the free-throw line. Ethan had 40 team rebounds and 23 turnovers.
Mindy Kraft scored 15 points for Wessington Springs and had seven rebounds. Devin Tebay scored 10 points.
The Lady Spartans shot 13-of-46 from the field and 11-of-29 from the free-throw line. The team had 32 rebounds and 24 turnovers.
Ethan (5-2) plays at Emery today. Wessington Springs (1-7) plays Hitchcock-Tulare in the 281 Conference Tournament Friday.

Samantha Blake scored her 1,000th career point for Centerville in its 60-51 win over Scotland Monday at the Corn Palace.
Kieran O’Malley scored 18 points and had five assists and five steals for Centerville. Blake scored 23 points and had 12 rebounds.
Haley Brunke scored 16 points and had five rebounds for Scotland. Aisha Abbink scored 15 points and had three assists. Kennedy Asche scored 12 points and had seven rebounds.
Centerville is 7-2 and plays Irene-Wakonda at Irene Thursday. Scotland is 5-3 and hosts Andes Central Friday.

STICKNEY — Corsica/Stickney was down by one at halftime, but came back to defeat Platte-Geddes 48-40 Monday.
Cassie Bamberg scored 12 points and had 10 rebounds for Corsica/Stickney. Emily Van Roekel scored 11 points and had six steals.
Corsica/Stickney shot 17-of-47 from the field and 11-of-26 from the free-throw line. The team had 39 rebounds and 23 turnovers.
Platte-Geddes was led by Josie DeGroot with nine points and five rebounds. Abby Safar scored eight points. Kelly Knudson got seven rebounds.
Platte-Geddes shot 12-of-51 from the field and 11-of-18 from the free-throw line. The Black Panthers had 29 rebounds and 20 turnovers.
Corsica/Stickney is 5-4 and plays White Lake at White Lake Thursday. Platte-Geddes plays Lake Andes Thursday in Platte.

NEW HOLLAND — Tripp-Delmont/Armour had three players score in double figures as the Nighthawks defeated Dakota Christian 55-44 Monday.
Julie Mingo, LaNae Fuerst, and Kelli Batterman each scored 13 points in the win. Batterman also had nine rebounds and five assits. Fuerst had seven rebounds. Hannah Just had five steals.
The Nighthawks shot 18-of-58 from the field and 16-of-22 from the free-throw line. The team had 27 rebounds and seven turnovers.
Brooklyn Vander Pol scored a team-high 18 points for Dakota Christian. Sara De Waard and Amy Overweg each scored eight points. Laurel Zomer had 10 rebounds, De Waard had eight and Overweg had seven.
The Lady Cadets shot 19-of-65 from the field and 6-of-8 from the free-throw line. The team had 33 rebounds and 23 turnovers.
Tripp-Delmont/Armour is 2-7 this season and hosts Platte-Geddes in Armour Friday. Dakota Christian is 2-5 this season and plays Thursday at Mitchell Christian.

Elizabeth Schnabel scored 12 points and had eight rebounds for the Huskies. Bridgewater-Emery shot 13-of-47 from the field and 11-of-19 from the free-throw line and had 36 rebounds and 21 turnovers.
Katie Anderson scored 11 points for Plankinton.
Bridgewater-Emery is 2-6 and hosts Ethan today in Emery. Plankinton plays at Dakota Christian Jan 16.
