Springs Auto fire ruled as accidental

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Investigators have concluded the Tuesday morning fire that destroyed Springs Auto on Main Street in Wessington Springs was accidental.

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Investigators have concluded the Tuesday morning fire that destroyed Springs Auto on Main Street in Wessington Springs was accidental.

Wessington Springs Fire Chief Keith Wetzel said state fire marshal and insurance investigators concluded their investigation and found no evidence of arson.

According to the state Department of Public Safety, state fire marshal investigators are still evaluating evidence as to the actual cause of the fire.

There has been no public indication yet whether the owner of Springs Auto, Lawrence Caffee, will rebuild his business.
