Fort Thompson man pleads guilty to sexual abuse

A Fort Thompson man pleaded guilty to sexual abuse Wednesday in U.S. District Court.

A Fort Thompson man pleaded guilty to sexual abuse Wednesday in U.S. District Court.

Craig Kirkie, 46, appeared before Judge Roberto A. Lange. The maximum punishment for the crime is 20 years in prison.

The conviction stems from an incident in November 2005, just a month after the victim turned 16. Kirkie was 40 at the time.

Lange ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for March.

Kirkie remains in custody pending sentencing.
