BankWest is opening up to 15 scholarships for area students who plan to continue their education beyond high school.
Applications for this year’s scholarships are available at all BankWest locations and online at www.bankwestsd.com.
To apply for the 2012 BankWest Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
• Be a BankWest deposit account holder for a minimum of six months preceding application deadline (account opened on or before Aug. 1, 2011).
• Be a U.S. citizen.
• Be a high school senior or full-time undergraduate student currently attending an accredited post-secondary educational institution.
• Have not previously received a Bankwest scholarship.
Deadline for applying is Feb. 3, 2012.
Those selected as finalists will be invited to BankWest’s main office in Pierre for a personal interview, and recipients will be announced in April.
The $1,500 scholarships may be used toward tuition at any accredited post-secondary educational institution. Involvement in community activities, personal character and academic integrity are the three primary areas of consideration in the application process.
