Garbage pickup changes for holiday; tree collection set

There will be no garbage collection in Mitchell on Monday, Jan. 2, due to the observance of the New Year’s holiday.

Monday’s and Tuesday’s garbage will be collected on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

The city of Mitchell Regional Landfill will be closed on Monday also. Dependable Sanitation will follow the city schedule.

The city of Mitchell will have a special collection for Christmas trees during the week of Jan. 3-6.

Place trees curbside on the same day of your garbage pickup. Trees will be only picked up curbside.

Christmas trees may also be taken to the compost drop-off site from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the week of Jan. 3-6. The compost site is located at 1405 W. Eighth Ave.
